Ovarian reserve screening.
The screening is carried out during the first 5 days of the menstrual cycle and is performed through a transvaginal ultrasound, conducted by a specialist in reproductive medicine capable of accurately measuring and counting the follicles in each ovary.
The ultrasound counts the follicles between 2 and 9 mm in size and the ovarian volume. Additionally, hormonal studies will be requested between the second and third day of the cycle to determine a woman’s ovarian reserve.
